Social Awareness

An excerpt from the fictional tales of The Daily Beacon.

Dear Rich, what does it mean to be woke?

Let’s begin with the Bhagavad Gita and the battle that takes place within. Prior to the battle discontentment reigned over the land, so much so that Krishna (an incarnation of creation itself) pushed for war as a means to rebalance good and evil. Thus, Arjuna the archer became an instrument of Krishna’s will, a destroyer of evil.

So the purpose of becoming woke, as it was in Arjuna’s narrative, is to rebalance the game. Newbs are getting pwned by griefers at an unacceptable rate. In other words, the meek are getting slammed by troublemakers, which ruins gameplay for all. The woke, with their enhanced awareness, are the helpers that aid newcomers while simultaneously squashing flamers with the ban-hammer.

It is well-known that increased moderation is the savior of forums everywhere. An unrestrained comment section is not freedom, but a cesspool collecting the worst of what humanity has to offer. Poop is flushed away, not plopped wherever the pooper pleases, lest everyone steps in it until disease drowns the land.

So the woke really are warriors in a battle to balance justice within society. And as in the narrative of Jesus, pushback and persecution often awaits those that spread love and acceptance. But blessed are the peacemakers for they align themselves with creation itself as they attempt to maintain a pleasant atmosphere within the world.
