Thoughtful Gardener

Tend to your thoughts as you would a garden.
Cultivate crops providing nourishment and enjoyment.
As negative thoughts sprout, pull them —
upkeep, necessary for prevention of infestation.

For some, blight and vermin come readily —
preparation and vigilance keep them managed.
Lost in effort, do not forget a garden’s purpose,
appreciate the beauty, engage in its delights.

  1. Beautiful. Although a garden is out of season for another 2 months or so, that metaphor is just as refreshing in this cold weather as your message. Since arriving at college, my roommate and I have tried to be very positive, non-judgemental, etc. and this is another reminder to keep that mindset going.
