Replies to our questions,
often recited authoritatively,
yet when pressed for detail,
the responses turn to haze.
Why did he do that?
Well, his childhood,
oh and genetics. Got it?
Answers that seem true,
placating our curiosity,
yet not actually answering.
Explanations remain unknown.
Individually lacking capacity,
deficient in perceptive abilities,
unable to obtain complete information,
we’re left without a comprehensive truth.
But lacking awareness of our ignorance,
we hold false confidence in an absolute truth,
despite being wrong in the past,
despite being fooled by trickery and illusion.
Not by accumulating vague answers,
do we understand life,
but upon acceptance,
of its unknowable nature.
